Four years ago, I campaigned for the position of public school trustee because I believe in a strong education system and I saw potential for improvement. Since being elected, I have consistently focused on bringing forward ideas to strengthen our school system in preparing students to succeed, building trust, and using financial resources wisely. I am proud of the initiatives that I brought forward and of my voting record.
I believe that there are further improvements that can be made to ensure that Calgary public schools are getting the financial resources and support they need to help students to succeed. Strong leadership is required in order to be responsive to the diverse needs of students and families as the school system continues to grow in size and complexity during difficult economic times.
Due to the City of Calgary’s decision to change the ward boundaries for the 2017 election, I have decided to run for re-election where I live, in the new Wards 1 & 2 in the northwest. On October 16, 2017, I hope that I can count on your vote.
